I saw other peoples pictures of running down the side of the oil pan rail and under the PS pulley that is scary! Can you post the way you did yours? Don't get me wrong I am not slammin anyone that's not cool I don't wnt to put the hoses that close to that spinnin pulley! Thanks for your help!

Give me to this Sunday and I'll get some new pictures to show how the lines go all the way from the adapter to the cooler.

Starting from below and looking up at the engine, there is about 2" between headers and cooler lines

From above looking down next to the engine by the steering shaft

The cooler lines run up over the front cross member and then pass between the radiator shroud and the frame into the head light bucket area, no way to get a good picture in that area.
From above looking down into the head light bucket area

From in front looking at the cooler and the lines coming out from the head light bucket area

This set up has worked well for me. Hope this helps a little.

What did you use to mount the cooler there? I am thinking of putting mine in the same spot.

I used a couple of 1/8"T x 2"W aluminium plates. Bent the ends up, drilled holes for bolts. Drilled holes through the fiberglass radiator shroud and bolted aluminium plates to the radiator shroud. You can see one end of the lower plate in the last picture in the series.

Default cooler

So the lines lay below the alternator and below the pivot point of the upper A-arm,Thanks for all the help and for the great pictures. I have the cooler hung and made brackets similar to how you did it but with the strips laying on edge up and down my cooler mounts are on the back of the coil instead of the top and bottom edge. They also go across from left to right.

I used a similar bracket on the top just like what is on the bottom.

Default C4 Z51 Engine Oil Cooler

If anyone is interested, I have an original C4 Z51 engine oil cooler.
I had planned on installing it on my 85, but never got around to it. It has been wrapped up in plastic sitting on the shelf for almost 20 years now. It is complete and even has the little T fitting and hoses which are so hard to find.

Will that fit on an '89 C4 coupe?

If so I'd like to be first in line. How much? What year C4 did it come from?

Went to the Hot Rod Power Tour yesterday in Dayton and my oil hit 230 degrees in @ 80 degree weather. During the stop and go on the interstate it was at 215-225, and if I drive agressivly it goes over 235.

I'm going to buy a cooler that is smaller than what most are running so I don't have to block it off in the winter, I hope.

I am torn between an inline thermostat or the sandwich adapter thermostat, pros or cons?
