Default HSR Numbers

Got my (free) HSR today from Holley. Sweet! And thank you to HOLLEY!

Anyways been reading up on it, they claim a 63hp gain when bolted onto a stock 350. Is this BS or does anyone actually have some numbers they'd like to share.

i don't know a whole lot about dynos and such, but you know how the TPI's die at 4100ish rpm? They probably make 60 hp more at 4300 rpm or something like that.

how did you get one free? I WANT ONE!

Edit: Just watched your video, is that the motorsports body kit?

nice pull!

I won one of the holley carbs in the promotion 52 carbs in 52 weeks. Well really didn't want a carb. So they were nice enough to work out a sweet deal with me. Most parts but a couple minor things to buy. Nothing major.

The body kit is from mold kraft and thanks for the comment on the vid

I have no problem believing 50-60+ add'l hp by swapping to the HSR.

Lot's of comparisons here:
http://www.stealthram.com

An article written by BADSS:
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...roc/index.html

And the peeace-a-da-resistance...Justin's detailed how-to and results:
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/al...ealth-ram.html

Read and get excited about your new intake!

That GM article is the one I'm getting my info from. Its just that it sounds to good to be true.
I measured it up last night and its approximently 1.5 inches taller than my CFI setup. So with my scoop I should have at least another 1.5 inches above the HSR.
With the stock bottom end would I be better off using 24lb or 30lb injectors?
I was thinking of just going ahead and getting the 30lb. Planning in the next year or two dropping the 383 in so i'd rather not buy injectors twice.
thanks

The 60 hp might be right, but the above is not correct. The HP advantage would not be at the same rpm level. The HSR allows the motor to breath at higher rpm's. This allows the motor to keep torque going at the higher rpms, and as we all know HP=tq x rpm/5252.

Since the stock TPI dies at 4500ish and the HSR can go 6000+ the effect would be drastic.

But unless you cut your hood like I did, the HSR will not fit. Some company, UMC (??) supposedly has a cut HSR. Does anyone know how different it is from the original HSR that Holley sells?

You will love it, remember that you can bring the fuel lines into the front, as normal, you might have to make a short section of braided line with a fitting that will fit the stock line and the Holley fuel rail.

Also, you can use a Throttle body spacer if you have a linkage clearance issue with your Throttle Body.
