When I put my 94 away it was working fine Go to start it and the clutch went to flooor! I ran it for awhile no dif. Did not see any fluid on the ground either. What are the next steps to find/fix this Ive never had a manual with this many miles My vette has 94,000 Thank you
One of the first things that occurs when the Master Cylinder is going out....is it allows fluid to leak into the passenger compartment. Many do not notice as it is WAY THE H3LL up there where the rod comes through the fire wall.
So anyway, make sure the little cup is full of fluid.
Have someone assist you..watch the reservoir to see if the fluid is sloshing around as the clutch pedal is depressed quickly...if so you may have a bad clutch master cylinder.
Your pivot stud/ball on the clutch fork may have broken off also. Remove the access plate and watch the fork for travel/movment.
I have a 93, mine did the same thing... I replaced the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder and the problem was rectified.
Curious why the fluid would be on the passenger side when the master cylinder is on the drivers side behind/below the ECU? or did you mean to say driver's side? Cause mine leaked down by my feet, ate away all the insulation down by the pedals.
Passenger compartment....not necessarily passenger side. I wanted to make sure He knew that the leak was inside the cabin...the outside area by the MC will be dry.
When I replaced mine I also replaced all the fluid with DOT4 brake fluid since the slave cylindar is right next to the headers it gets real hot. The fluid in the slave cylinder was boiling when I came off the track after a late afternoon session and the clutch just dropped to the floor.
New slave and new fluid resolved the problem for me.

Slave cylinder right next to the headers... if you have long tubes!
The slave is adjacent to the Cat on the drivers side for us less fortunate folks...
Well I went straight to the fluid res. and the fluid in there was black! Took paper towel and soaked up what I could from res. Put some fresh fluid in pumped peddle fluid is then black (the fluid recirculates?) Did this a few times then bled a little to remove any air The clutch peddle is back to the way it was! Drove over to a friends and everything is fine so far I have'nt driven it in year & half so I hoope to enjoy it this summer!! Thanks for all the advice
