86 mpg
I have a stock 86 coupe (auto) and was just curious to know kind of mpg I should expect to get. I am planning on using it as a daily driver mostly backroads work commute. What kind of improvements, upgrades, and maintenance would help. Obviously I did not buy this car for economical reasons but I'll take all I can get. Thanks

I get 15-16 in town, and up to 24 on the hwy.
If it gets much less, give it a tune-up.

Way back in the early 90's when the car was still stock I used to get about 16-19 around town (19 driving like an old lady) and about 24 Highway. The Highest I ever saw for a full tank was 26.7 mph going mostly highway about 70ish. Over 500 miles to that tank of gas!

Thank goodness it goes a quarter of a mile at a time. Not good on cruises!
