Default Code 15 - Coolant Sensor Connector Location

Hi all,

I had to do an intake gasket replacement on my 87 L98 Vert, in doing so it seems I have literally lost an electrical connection somewhere and I am guessing that is the cause of my Code 15 and fan running constantly when the car is started.

When I put everything back together I had one extra electrical port on my intake manifold. It is on the front of the manifold and is a 2 wire port. I cannot remember disconnecting it and when everything went back together that pig tail for the connector was nowhere to be found.

So can someone tell me where I might look for the pigtail to tie into the harness and then I could trace it back to the front of the engine from there?

On the upside, it seems my intake gaskets are working and no more leaks, now if I can just get rid of the code 15 and the SEL I will be good to go.

Thanks again,
Phil

The coolant sensor can be found at the front of the intake manifold right above the water pump. You'll definitely want to reconnect it as this sensor plays a major role in fuel delivery.

Thanks,

The sensor location isn't the problem, the actual pigtail wiring plugs into the sensor is what I am trying to locate. It is litterally missing and I do not know where it would connect on the opposite end away from the sensor. Any idea on that one, so I can try to trace it?

Also if someone knows the color of the wires for the connector that would help too.

Thanks in advance,
Phil

Cool

Thanks very much, I found it. It was buried/wedged under the Thermo Time Switch and I couldn't see it until I traced the wires back.

THANKS AGAIN....
