Default Digital Dash

I am having problems with the digital dash in my '87. It works o.k., but a little dim during the day. When I turn on the headlights at night, however, the digital dash quits working. If I pull into a brightly lit area the dash will brighten and work fine until I leave, at which point it fades out within thirty seconds. Anyone have any ideas?

Broken Solder. Probably needs to be rebuilt.

Check light sensor. Check light switch.

Try this:
In full daylight, it should get brighter. back it out of the garage, put your finger over the little hole on the perimeter of the driver's side speedo. if it starts to dim, all is well. If it gets dimmer, the dimmer circuit is no good.
