would a lt1 and a 6spd bolt up to an 85 vette with out a lot of headache??

I asked this same question, except my version was my 91 L-98 6-speed swapped out for a LT4 motor.

The short and quick answer is: It would be ALOT of headache!

I would look for a different car and sell yours if possible.

too much headache because of how the computer systems are set up on a LT1/4 car which also makes it a headache to swap a different kind of engine into those cars as well. You would probably be better off going for the LS1 swap, not as much headache.

Bolt up...yes, no problem

Getting it running is a different story, you will have to use the LT1 computer and harness but as was posted already anything is possible with persistance.

If you already have the engine tranny I would say it is worth doing. If you haven't bought it yet I would use a TPI motor with the six speed. At the very least your wiring will be there
