Default Rocker Noise

I have the 1.6 Comp Cam magnum rockers, anyone else have them? If they are loose you would hear a noticeable chatter right? I used an extension as a stethoscope and I here chatter. I think I’m going a little overboard but is it normal valve train noise for these rockers? I can’t hear any noticeable ticking when I’m next to the valve covers.

Did you losen them up until you hear a clatter,then tighten down until the clatter goes away and then a 1/2 turn more?

I had the same problem and gave up. Taking her to the mech on thursday.

Mine have been ticking for four years now.....I adjust with motor running every year hoping it'll quit but it never goes away....it just moves around

As the valve seat and face wear, you loose clearance/lash. Meaning it's the other way around. Instead of gaining clearance, your loosing clearance. Extream would be the valve not seating. In the olden days, crimped nuts would back off causing excessive lash. Today with polly locks, they don't back off. Hydraulic lifters have a cushen of adjustment but they too will need adjusted (backed off) over time as the valve and seat wear.
