As much as I enjoy and value the forum, the search function sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. I've got a real steering fluid leak problem with my 88 convertible, but cannot for the life of me get any search to give me any results. I've entered every combination I can think of. I've tried 'power steering leak' steering rack leak', 'power steering fluid leak' to name just a few, and all I get are pages of entries of completely unrelated threads and entries with absolutely no references to the issue.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Sad to say search is nearly worthless since an "upgrade" to the site some time ago and there seems to be no inclination to restore it.
There really aren't many "tricks" to locating an oil leak of any kind, cleaning off the accumulated oil and visual inspection is the tried and true technique. Talcum powder, dye and black lights are all just variations on the theme, you must identify the source before you can fix it.

Although the search function may not be the best, it does work much better if you use the right search parameters.
