Default Is there a AC consensor?

Is there an AC condensor on the Early C4s or is the dryer the condensor? Would a bad dryer cause the AC not to be cold? I am pretty sure I need a new compressor though.

The A/C condenser sits in the front of the radiator. The accumulator (dryer) is the cylinder that sits in front of the compressor.

If the system is not blowing cold air, it could be a variety of things. Not enough refrigerant, no refrigerant, bad comprssor relay, or even something wrong inside the heater box.

Does the compressor clutch engage when your turn on the A/C? If it does, does it cycle every 4-5 seconds or stay engaged for a few minutes?

The system should be inspected by a shop to determine what the problem or problems are. The system will need to be evacuated and charged up with refrigerant that has an added dye to check for any leaks. Once that is done, then the problems can be found and fixed.

The compressor can run in the $250 neighborhood and the condensor can be expensive too. IF the system is not working and you want it repaired, go with an R-134a upgrade as R-12 will be very expensive .
