A friend of mine drives '92 LT1 and he has some problems.
Engine starts normally when cold and when it warms up, it
starts to missfire until it completely stalls.
He told me that spark plgs and wires are new. What could be
the problem? Opti-spark?
I'd check the ignition control module first. Easy to get to and a lot cheaper than an Opti.
Check the coil and ignition control module (ICM). My coil went ****-up on me and took my ICM with it, resulting in an immediate crank, no-start condition.
Replaced both and it fired right up and ran like new money.
My first thought would be the ICM. It does not sound like an typical opti problem. But I would also not forget about a possible ECM problem.
They do cause some unusual problems.
