Default need help with interior light troubleshooting

Hi all. I have an 85 and I need help troubleshooting my internal footwell lights. Here is the situation: when I open the hatch, the back lights work, they turn off immediately when it is closed. I did my checking on the passenger footwell light with a volt meter and regardless of what happens, both wires stay at 12 volts (the pink and the white one). It doesn’t matter if the doors are open or closed (I waited a few minutes to make sure the timer was done).

Can anyone clue me in as to what I need to check next and what it could be?

I don’t need the timer, I just want to add a little light to a dark car.

Well, this is going to turn out to be a short post. I followed the instructions in this post:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...x-85-87-a.html

and come to find out that it was only a loose wire. The wire that goes to the door switches came out so it wasn’t getting the ground when the doors were open. Hopefully, that is the only problem and the previous owner (only owned it for 2 weeks) didn’t disconnect the wire on purpose.
