Default Should I put more...

Should I put more money in the money pit by investing $400 -500 dollars in this ECM..... Has anyone heard of "Dynamicefi" ?
I was on the Moates website site and found these guys on the bottom of Moates web page GM TBI or a 2732A-based ECM? Check this out!. I was looking for an alternative way to update my car's computer (870 ECU)without spending a bundle for an after market system. For $400 -500.00 dollars this seems to be the ways to go. The only thing is they don't have a direct plug and play for 870 ecm. I emailed the company about my 870 ecm and they replied with " it can be done ...all I need to do is add a map sensor and repin my end of the wire harness which they would send me guided instruction to repin my wire harness to plug into their ECU. So I was wondering If any you guys heard of this company or the service /product they are offering?

This is what they offer:

The EBL system sends ECM data to a laptop or PC running the What's Up Display program. It is simply the best and fastest data logger available for any GM ECM. The data stream contains all available engine and vehicle parameters.

Included on the EBL board is eight analog input channels. The data from these inputs is included real time with the ECM data. These analog inputs can be used for data logging WB O2 units and fuel pressure

The software to run the engine is the result of years of effort. It has been enhanced to support engines from stock through high performance monsters. Even handles boost up to 15 psi. The EBL code provides functionality not found in stock ECMs.

For example:

A real shift light
Soft touch rev limiter
2-bar MAP support with boost SA retard and fuel multiplier tables (3D: Boost vs. RPM)
Electric fan, high, low and override temperatures. MPH threshold shutoff along with PE mode shutoff
N2O wet system control: minimum MPH, RPM, and TPS thresholds, upper RPM limit. Arming input
Smart A/C control: PE disable, upper/lower RPM shutoff, re-enable delay
Lean cruise mode for better fuel mileage
Open loop fueling modes
N-Alpha mode
EGR
CCP
For the Corvette CrossFire* folks your Digital Dash is supported. Your trip computer will be functional
VE and spark tables are full size up to 6,400 RPM
Acceleration enrichment (AE) tables have been expanded
Changes to the fueling algorithms have been made to provide a smoother, stronger running engine.
The enhancements to the ECM code are too numerous to list. Your engine will run stronger, smoother and be more responsive.

I figure if they are on Moates web site they must be pretty good, but I just wanted to know if any of you guys think

If you are looking for just an update, you may want to find a quality tuner. Jeremy Formatto will do it for you mail order or if he goes to your part of the country (he travels alot) he can do a street tune, he charges 300 for those, they are fully custom. Now if you are looking to supercharge/turbo, the new ECM program is the way to go because the old computers cannot handle the things you listed.

What end result are you looking for?
Conversion to MAP?
Ease of tuning ?

Could do the '870 - to later '165 MAF conversion; has faster data rate
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ecm_swap/

Or '870 - '730 MAP using F-body ECM ( internal v ext '727 used on Vette)
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/di...-sd-730-a.html

Both of these setups are real time tunible using the Moates Ostrich $175 and TunerProRT $30

you can read more here:
http://www.dynamicefi.com/EBL_Contact.php
I never had any experience w/his product, the specifics sound good. I can tell you that Rob R.(Rrob) is well respected when it comes to ecms, programming etc.

My plan was not to convert to a map, but to find a easier way to tune my car. I thought of doing the 870 to 165 conversion, but I'm not very knowledgeble when it come to making the swap and thought it involved installing a new wire harness for the 165. I'll check out the thirdgen link. Thanks!

The 870 is just as easy as the rest to tune. Just add the G2 adapter from Moates, and use a 27SF512 chip and you can tune it just like any other TPI system.
