Default Hardened pushrods and guides question?

Should hardened pushrods wear into the pushrod guides some what, hence the reason they are hardened, or should they not wear in to the guides at all?
I have been told different things by a variety of people, so what is the correct answer?

They may have some type of rubbing marks on them as they can flex. Unless they are binding/wearing funny I wouldnt worry about it.

Anyone else? I have had several people say "yes it is ok", and others "no it shouldn't wear at all".

What guideplates?
Aftermarket ones to suit the harderened pushrods or the factory "assembly plates " used with OEM self aligning rockers

I have CC hardened pushrods, and CC Pro Mag non-self aligning RR.
I cannot recall what guide plates, I was thinking the stock config didn't use, becuase they have self aligning RR's?

Not up to speed on LT1's but L98 had plates for factory assembly, not proper guide plates

Yes, it runs fine, correct parts.
I broke a valve spring a while back and I noticed the guide plates had some where in them. I have had experienced people and mechanics say it is normal, which is the reason for the hardended pushrods (so the guides don't wear the rods down), and others say they should not wear/move at all.

When I replaced the factory hardened guide plates, they was no wear, just a polished look where they rubbed. 100,000+ miles.

It may leave some marks but shouldnt be wearing anything down like a file. I've got this setup on my '85 and the instructions say its fine as long as there is no binding or excessive wear.
