Starting problems
My 1995 automatic sometimes hesitates briefly before cranking after I turn the key. A few days ago it made no connection with the starter at all with the key turned, whether in park or neutral. After a few trys with no connection, it suddenly started normally. The battery is fine. I suspect either the starter switch or the neutral safety switch is going bad. Of course, cables are a possibility. Before I go further I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similiar problem, and if so, what was the solution.

Mine did the same thing. I had to tap on the starter and then it started ok. My starter was just worn out. I replaced it and everything is good now. If you remove the starter and solenoid you can have it checked by an Autozone, Advance Auto, etc.

I'd check all your battery & starter connections first. After you rule that out, I believe that the culprit is your starter. I've had the same thing happen to me in my truck.
