Took the vette out for a spirited drive, and naturally everyone wants to challenge you; so I decided to just get away. Anyway, the car is smoking from under the hood, but the gauges all indicate within normal operating temperature. When I open the hood there's water everywhere. What could have been the cause of this? I did drive the car hard, but it's an LT4, it's made to be a mover. I recently had a performance cam ( 503) installed, and while the engine was open, the mechanic thought it was best to chnge the waterpump. I still have the old wp, but I'm just grasping at straws here. Please advise, corvette gurus.
Yes, check the cooling system when under pressure so, you can see where the coolant is coming out from. Also, do a pressure check on the cooling system.
First thing I would check would be all of the hoses.
Bingo; pin-hole in the small hose that runs from the passenger side closest to the engine and runs along the fuel rails. Fixed. That's again for the help.
