Time for Roller Rockers!
Bad news is that the tall valve covers didn't fit, as already advised, so I'll have to send those back to summit. What I did was take a pair of tin snips and cut out the bottom supports of my current valve covers. I have these, which are stock height but don't look like my old stockers from the L98.
I did the install in a little over 3 hours, including the time it took to snip the covers. Got in the car, cranked it over a few times just incase I slipped up - all sounded well. I fired it up and there was a loud ticking from the driver cover and smoke coming from the exhaust. Turned it off, then off come the covers again, and I missed tightening the one rocker by.. a lot actually, I must've overlooked it while doing final checks. Got that tightened up, fired up again and it runs smooth.. well, as smooth as my cam can run.
My method wasn't like the book, mostly because I'm too impatient to turn to TDC and check all of that. I used the caveman method - crank over the motor until you see one rocker compress the spring, then unbolt the other rocker from that cylinder and replace with a new one. Repeat the whole way around, tightening up until the rockers are snug but not compressing the spring and setting the stopper. It was a pain but it's finally over, and I can proudly say that I did it myself.

Now, for a related matter, I hear a slight bit of chatter from the valvetrain that appears to be louder than it was with stamped rockers, is it common that rollers are louder or am I just imagining that? I'm probably just being paranoid, but I always second guess things that I DIY because I'm don't have a lot of hands on experience with motors.
If it wasn't dark by the time I finished, I'd have snapped a few pics of the finished project. As I stand, I don't even wanna take off the valve covers again, but I'm sure you guys know what they look like. Compcams chrome-moly rockers 1.6 on intake & 1.52 on exhaust.
