I'd take the screws out of it.

No doubt this forum can become a circus and the clowns do come out.

I've removed my 90's speedometer bezel but never the cluster. I would recommend getting the Factory Service Manual, both main book and electrical supplement. If you are going to make any repair on your car, you will learn to use this book. There is usually a section explaining the operation of a system at the head of each chapter and has more information than any aftermarket book.

I would not attempt to trouble shoot any system without this book. Usually they are available on ebay or can by from Helms.

Sell some furniture if you have to but get that book.

I'll second the FSM, but if you can't wait, do a search for dash or cluster removal. The last post I printed out to do mine had pictures also.
It's not that hard, but it does involve some contortion under the dash. Thin wall sockets also help a lot.

Ok this is from memory so take it for what it's worth...it's pretty straight forward if you take out all the screws from the bezel and vents and remove them. I think then you have to drop the steering column so the cluster will come out. That's as far as I can remember, but this was over two year ago.

You need to remove the kick panel and lower the steering column. Once that is done, remove the screws holding the bezel in place. I think there are two in the top and two in the bottom. Once the bezel is removed, there should be four torque screws holding the cluster in. Remove these four and pull the cluster out. It's a fairly easy job. Forgive me if I forgot somthing, It's been a few years since I replaced my cluster.

I believe you you'll need to remove the radio trim bezel and center vents and it would require in this order 1. shift **** 2. center console trim 3. radio/dic bezel 4. center vent 5. drivers knee bolster 6. IP cluster bezel 7. lower the column from support 8. remove connectors from cluster back side. It seems I recall a mention of removing the tilt lever for easier access!

Can it be done "with out" any of these steps? Maybe! I haven't done it but "need to"!! My order maybe in error but it seems like the proper sequence!

You need to remove the kick plate first then remove bolts holding up steering column. Steering column should drop away enough to remove the bezel. Then remove screws to the cluster and pull out. On my 93 this is what I had to do. Not sure if the 90 is the same but I didn't have to touch the radio.
