Default Help!!What is this

On removing side yokes from 3.07,once I removed the circlip I noticed it had a small ball bearing fitted in the end,the other side did not?(not that I saw)
I looked inside a 2.29 still with yokes still fitted and there does not appear to be any bearing/
what is it for?? and does it matter what side it is installed?

I cannot find reference to it in the FSM either
It was fitted in the small recess in the centre of the yoke.

Look on 4B-16 is it in the second picture shown? I have no idea what the ball is you are seeing but is it possible that it goes between the two splined shafts.
