As stated, I have a 1985 with a 1226870 computer. I removed the cold start injector because it was leaking and I had heard that you can live without it. It always starts now but it's takes a while of cranking to get it to go. Doesn't matter if it's 80 degrees or 10 below, takes about the same amount of cranking.
My question is, I'd like to get my ECM reprogrammed to fire the injectors when your cold cranking like the later years work. I've read several people mentioning it can be done, but not many suggestions on who/where can do it.
All I really want is that fixed, as well, I'll probably want the fan to come on sooner while I'm doing it.
Are there any suggestions for people or a company that would do this for a reasonable price?
Pretty sure PCMforless.com and do it for you via a piggy back chip (goes between the Calpack and ECM)....they can give your car a specific "tune" also.....lots of options. This is a "mail order" tune but they offer excellent results IMHO.
I've used them myself for my '89 and have been very pleased.
