No crank, Code 53 and 46 after dropped steering column
I was trying to replace my cluster and dropped my steering column. The replacement cluster was faulty, so i replaced my original one back in, the car started fine just before i put the column back up.
After replacing all the parts, hush panel etc, the car wont crank, and the security light stays on with intermittent code 53 in the ccm, and 46 in the ecm. took everything apart again, lowered and raised the column too. tried wiggling all the wires. it seems that when the column was down it was tugging on something but im not sure what is the culprit
has anyone had any experience in which wires could have been snagged whilst the column was being replaced?
Sounds like the 2 VATS wires are not completing the loop. Not sure what colour they are on your year, but have a look at the base of the column for 2 matching coloured wires going into a connector. You may have pulled one or both out.
OK, dropped the steering column again, code 53 went away after a battery reset, only the ecm has code 46.
does anyone know which wires to look at? could it still be the ignition cylinder?
what ohm value should we set the voltmeter at to check ohms.
as im in Hong Kong, there is no one here that knows anything about corvettes, so im pretty much stuck telling the local guys what to look for, again all help is much appreciated.
