K, I have a friend that has a '93 C4 with a no start problem after setting for the winter.
Turn the key on and we hear no pump. Are we supposed to?
With the key on, I pushed the fuel valve release on the rail and only got dribbles at best. Can a relay or fuse be blown here or is the pump gone? I can't find any pressure requirements in FSM. Also what section is the troubleshooting in?
Engines require spark, and spark at the right time, fuel and air and in the correct ratio in order to start and run. So.....use a timing light during cranking to see if you have spark and spark at the right time. While you haven't measured fuel pressure, your test shows you have almost none and no fuel pump noise. Check the fuel pump fuse, not sure on 93's, but on the ALDL socket, you can force the fuel pump on, so try that. If it won't start after you get fuel pressure, then see how long fuel pressure holds after the pump is off, you might have leaky injector/s or a defective fuel filter or check valve. Get a noid light ( or an LED and a series 680 ohm resistor) and see if the injectors are being pulsed during cranking.
