I use a Mobil 1 if available, if not I'll get something else. The last AC Delco filter I had scared me. If the car was cold and you have it any kind of throttle it would completely peg the oil pressure gauge. That made me a little nervous. I still couldn't get a Mobil 1 when it came for my next change, so I found a Castrol Super Max or some BS like that. So far so good.
I think I remember this topic coming up before and somebody said they had problems with the Fram's collapsing and causing oil starvation which eventually equaled to engine failure.
Mobil 1 or AC Delco only ... no FRAM :U :U :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:
Why isn't Fram a decent filter?
Have you ever seen the pictures that the forum member took of all kinds of filters?!? He took one of each kind of filter he could find ... cut them up to see all the insides, and the Fram is the cheapest piece of poopie you've ever seen. I'd rather stick a coffee filter in there than a Fram Filter!!:eek::eek:
I change oil about the same interval, I get Mobil 1 filters for $7.99 off the net. Right now i'm using ACDelco since I'm changing often for the rebuild.
[QUOTE]I use a Mobil 1 M1-202 filter ($11.49) on my car in combination with Mobil 1 5W-30 oil. My average oil pressure went up about 10psi when switching to this filter.

 ...I've been using a plain ole AC Delco Duraguard+Mobil 1, 5w30 synthetic...how and why did your oil pressure go up 10psi? and why do you need more oil pressure than what is required by the engine...tell me and I'll change...is the Duraguard not a good filter?...

update:...thanks for the help scrap508... :cuss
I use the stock AC Delco replacement filter. No need for any of the $10 filters. I change my oil about every 1500-2500 miles.
I agree. If you change the oil @ 3K, most any brand name filter will be fine. I have used several brands (I have 103K on the car) and I don't notice any difference in the oil at the change. Oil analysis on several samples after the change was about the same without regard to the filter used.
