Heater Core diagnosis help
UPDATE: I think I figured it out. The steam is related to the leak and the bypass is under the reserve tank.
I had suspected that the heater core on my 93 LT1 had started to leak a couple of weeks ago by the smell in the cabin. Today was a very hot day (100 degrees, no humidity) and the smell was very strong. Checked the carpet on pass. side and it was wet with that telltale smell.
But I noticed that I had steam coming out the the air vents with the a/c running and am wondering if that is related to the heater core leak. Second question, is the bypass of the heater core done from the top or bottom, looks very tight from the top? Thanks to those who will provide some insight. Jim
