AC help please
Before my no brainer issue it worked fine. Last time I drove it is blew super cold but did freeze up. Do to this I thought the charge was off so I checked the presures and they are in line. Next I though I wasn't gettin any juice to the comp. I put my voltmeter to it and turned the AC on and I saw a power change (can't remeber the exact number of volts right now). The air blows in the car so the blower works just the clutch wont engadge. The main fan doesn't come on either. I just replaced all the presure sensors last year but due to my mistake I'm not counting them out.
Anyone have an idea what might be bad now? Also, does anyone know how to test the presure sensors and what voltage the comp should see when the AC is on? My FSM tells me "for AC troubleshooting see (a book I don't have :-( "
With the clutch tested, follow the wiring diagram and check for about 12 Volts out of each link in the chain. You can test the low pressure switch by simply using an ohmmeter with the engine stopped, looking for continuity. If you have adequate static pressure it should be made.
You really need a wiring diagram and make sure that the climate control is giving 12V out, and then follow it down the line.
If you have an ACC system the power surge from the backward cables may have caused damage to it.
Just get a wiring diagram and follow the trail.
Good luck and hope this helps,
Doc
