Is booster push rod adjustable?

Is booster push rod adjustable?
while wiping around the push Rod protruding from the Brake Booster prior to installing a new Brake master Cylinder,it turned counterclockwise between quarter and half a turn...have I unscrewed it slightly and need to re-adjust or does it just rotate freely?

"The rod on the booster is adjustable and affects where the brake pedal will sit. When I replaced mine, I got lucky because it was already adjusted exactly the same as the old one. Someone will have to chime in on the rod adjustment. "

I did not even know about the adjustment when I replaced mine years ago either. I just bolted it on right out of the box, and luckly the pedal sat fine.
