Default M/T valve covers
I thought I posted this before but I can't find it. I was wondering if a set of M/T small block Chevy valve covers will fit on my 85. It has stock heads. How much trouble is it to take the old ones off and install these? I heard it was kind of difficult.

not much effort but nothing will fit back on your engine if they are the tall covers. (air cond, smog pump, etc.)

I guess I could take the AC off...running it makes the Vette run hotter anyway, and I was always going to take that smog pump off when I get the time (and nerve).

They will fit without problems,I'm running them on my 85,they also clear 1.6 roller rockers with 520.lift cam.

Did you have to take anything off the engine to install them? I heard you had to take the air pump and alternator loose before you could put them on.

nope still have air I did not remove anything for covers to fit.it is a little tight at the wiper motor.
