I have a problem with the engine running rich after it sits at idle for a few minutes. A high speed miss is accuring as well could be not related. Anyone have any suggestions where to start looking. I have no check engine lights on. Someone suggested that the EGR vakve could be stuck open causing a vacume leak. There by making the computer sence a lean mix and compensating causing the engine to run rich, New plugs, Wires, Dist cap, Rotor, Fuel Filter and pump. All suggestions welcome and appreeciated. I am not to familular with the Crossfire engines and really dont know where to begin.
I would guess factory orginal equipment. I will check the wire today. Would that cause the rich running problem? Should I have gotten a check engine light if it was not working properly?
Does your engine run rich only when cold (first started) or after worm-up (after about 160 on coolant temp gauge) or all the time? Have you shorted your ALDL to determine that no codes were set or are you assuming none have been set because you don't have a Check Engine light?
Your answers to these questions may help direct you to the problem.
I can feel and hear a muffled (puff puff), non violent miss that seems to go away when I step on the gas and cannot hear it or feel it at idle.
Stock 84
new wires, plugs and cap 1 year old not even one thousand miles on them. No codes

this guy had the same problem if I remember correctly
Before you start just buying more parts...take a step back.
Answer the questions that Black84 asked. Just because the check engine light isn't on doesn't mean it hasn't thrown any codes. Start there. Its free to check
A few inexpensive items can cause your problems.
CTS, O2, Bushing leak at the TB shafts, TPS.
TPS can be checked by just using a DVM. A simple test.
IAC's or one could be a problem. Test prior to going out and just spending more on something that "well will hopefully solve the problem"
TPS voltage seems fine
DVM at idle setting what should it be in between idle and WOT?
IAC's in mine are fine cleaned last week
TB shafts are worn, the spray at idle from the TB's looks good, nice and even, fine sprays.
