Default ECM question

Does the ecm process the oil temp signal to the digital readout? I have 2 ecms and 2 proms. One ecm reads 327 degrees with either prom. The other ecm reads normal with either prom. Both ecms are bad I think. They get hot, the mph readout stops as does the odometer, car runs erratic and then dies. One ecm (with the 327 temp) just came back from ZIP after a rebuild. All injectors are new, as is opti, coil, and control module. I've read the FSM as best I could and it seems to point to this conclusion. The a/c compressor will not come one with the newer ecm either. Wanted input b4 I send this ecm back to ZIP.
Thanks
Jim

What year vette?
Could it be that the cluster has a problem and not the ecm?
An ALDL plug in scan tool that capable of reading/displaying sensor values might help.
