Cruise control not working

My cruise control is not working.Any ideas of where to start looking for diagnosis?Any parts that usually go bad first?Fuse is not blown.

I just fixed mine by adjusting the clutch safety switch (the one that's depressed when the clutch pedal is "up"). There's also one on the brake pedal (or only one if you're in an Auto).

Check the vacuum lines and check valve around the distributor and to the cruise actuator assembly.

Thanks guys I'll check those areas.When I turn on the switch I don't getany lights on the dash.

I checked vacuum lines all seem to be connected.The small hose goes to a check valve .This might not be working .It goes to some smaller plastic lines.I don't think any of the lines are leaking because the idle is o.k. right around 700 rpm.I couldn't see where the larger hose connected to behind the distributor.I didn't get a chance to check the switch on the break and clutch pedal you've got to be a contortionist to get to where they are.
