Help me out please. I have been autocrossing my 95 stock for the past year. i finally have money to fix it up. What modifications do i need to put 17X 11s on all 4 corners? what is the backspacing required? do you think you could post a link for rims? Also what suspension mods should i do to my car?
Need to know what class you are in, and what class you want to be in. But generally speaking, wider tires need wider wheels. So 11's with 315's on them would probably be good. GET AN ALIGNMENT. This cannot be understated, and it's cheap. A great set of specs for autocrossing are -1.5 camber in front, -1.0 in rear, as much caster as possible without sacrificing camber (probably about 5.5-6.0 degrees) then have the fronts toed out 1/32" and rears toed in 1/32". I got these specs from more than one source, both of which are pretty competitive. You will need to explain to the shop that you have your own specs, but a good shop will be glad to do it. They will charge more than a normal alignment though if they're adjusting camber/caster. So be prepared for that.
I would look at Koni adjustable shocks, Hyperco springs...suspension is key. You have enough horsepower for now, so get the thing to corner first, then add power later.
