The other day I noticed a ticking from under the hood that got faster with speed. I narrowed it down to two injectors. When you touch these two injectors the pusle you can really feel them pusle. I installed brand new injectors last summer. I ohmed checked them hot and cold, and they all were 15. Any idea why this would start? It may be my imagination but it seems that the car is running more rich, and the odd time it will idle high. Is there anything I can check? Why did they start to tick? Thanks!

injectors start to tick when they get clogged, either with carbon from the bottom or debris in the filter, if the flow is restricted, the o2 will pick up the lean signal and start adding fuel across to all the injectors, so you might be right about the richness. Its very important to make sure the fuel tank is clean in these older cars. Also changing the fuel filter is very important. I think you have Bosch 3's. They can be swapped out without even removing the plenum. Call me I will exchange them out and see if they are clogged.

Thanks for the reply. They were replaced last year with 24# Accel injectors. I also changed out the fuel pump and all filters. Thats why I'm really surprised somthing is acting up already.

You can clean them on the rail with an injector cleaning kit. That is a normal GM maintenance procedure. No need to buy new injectors. You could also replace just the two that are noisy. I doubt you need new injectors. Change the fuel filter as well.

How do you clean them on the rail? Where do you get the kit?

Cleaning them on the rail is a band aid.. something got them clogged in the first place. On older vehicles its usually sediment in the tank that gets by the filter. There is a tiny filter basket in the top of every injector. Any particles in the rail will go into the filter and actually cause more clogging. If the injector is clogged with carbon particles from the bottom then on rail service is good.

Any good auto parts store. People are making lots of assumptions here. My point is there is nothing wrong with 1 year old disc injectors and no need to buy new. Simply clean them.
I am running the 20 year old original Multecs in my 1989 Z51. I cleaned them on the rail 2 years ago, changed my fuel pump sock, and fuel filter. My car starts and runs great great and they ohm out to spec.
You can also remove and clean the two noisy ones if you want.
