Default Too much heat

I hope someone can help. I have an 88 with 75k miles on it, runs great except the heat won't quit. I have electronic control on the ac but it's stuck on 90 degrees. I press the cool button, nothing happens, Off button, nothing. no matter what it stays on 90. In the manual it says press the cool button & the temp will go down gradually to 60 degrees and stay there but it won't. Anyone have any ideas, it's getting warm in here.

Pull the heater hoses off at the firewall and do a heater bypass by connecting them with a straight through coupler. No hot water, no heat.

My controls went funky, so I pulled the unit apart and cleaned the connections. It's been flawless for the last 5 years, knock on wood !!
