She fired up and immediately died. Had a couple of intermittant code 34's. Don't seem to hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key. Replaced the fuel pump relay and nothing. Will a bad MAF or relay cause it to not start? Should I look at that as a cause?
Following the steps in diagnosing a problem is the only way to understand what is wrong and how to fix it. You can't just guess on these cars there are way to many things that can affect the same system. You have to start from the begining and find what is or is not working before just replacing parts. GM has a good way of doing this and it's all layed out in the FSM
Because my knowledge is very limited, and the relays looked like they were very old, and are relatively cheap, I took a shot and went that route first.
Start by finding out if you have power to the fuel pump, then check for fuel pressure at the rails, also check wiring for any loose connection. Follow the chart that Agent 86 posted. If you can let people on here know what is going on ie; have power, have pressure, ect you will get help fixing it.
