After almost 3 years of neglect I got my '87 on the road again yesterday. I put a new set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s on, a new fuel pump, new battery, siphoned the tank and put new fuel in, changed the oil and also the filter. I turned the key and in less than 5 seconds the engined fired right up and settled into a nice open loop idle and good oil pressure and coolant temps.
I still have to change the lifters (#8 exhaust is clackity no matter how much you adjust it) and get a tune, but it runs and drives well. The A/C and 4+3 overdrive even still worked. The poor thing is 23 years old this October and visually getting pretty haggard, but for 188k miles its not bad.
Still have the black GS rims, but they're in horrible need of refinishing. The clearcoat has flaked horribly on the front ones. There's about 1/3 of the clear coat coming gone from the painted roof so I'll put the glass one on soon and a few more spots here and there. She's in need to big time touch ups and a complete interior. Oh yeah... tossed on some new wipers and lug nuts. So exciting
For those who've never seen it, a couple older pics.
I was religiously until April when a project at work had me working many more hours. Then I hurt my neck/back and haven't been back since. Hopefully back soon though, I've lost about 12-14 pounds and feel pathetic.

Wow.... I haven't seen that yellow vette in a long time. Good to see you're still in the hobby Scorp !
I hear you on the paint and what have not, you're not alone....I've been going thru the same with almost a complete restoration. This stuff wears out....
