I was driving under eXtreme condition on the SoCal mountains and the left bearing started to make noise when I brake. Initially I thought it was the overheated brakes. It happened again and I checked and re-torqued everything and all checked out.
Are these bearings weak or I just pushed to the extreme with them?
I'm planning on keep driving this way, where can I buy heavy duty bearings?
Your going to want to order/get a hold of a new bearing and washer...if the bearing gets too sloppy you can wipe out the ABS wheel sensor....$
Sounds like you got water in there. I've done this trick a few times:
If you remove the wheel bearing you can actually carefully pry out the bearing seal on the 1/2 shaft side with a very small screwdriver. Work some grease in there on the bearing on the one side...then pop the seal back in and bolt it all back up. This should get you by another month or so or until you can get a "good" bearing ordered/installed.
