Troubleshooting from the FSM..ECM Connectors?

Default Troubleshooting from the FSM..ECM Connectors?

Car threw a code 42- Electronic Spark Timing (EST)

In the FSM it says disconnect ECM connectors..where is this talking about? from the ECM under the dash?

Correct.
If you are following the same as this

http://members.shaw.ca/corvette86/Code%2042.pdf

you need the 2 ECM connectors off so you can test the wiring back from the connector.

can't i just test the circuit at the connector to the ignition module under the distributor cap?
