84 tv trans cable??

Have a broken tv tranny cable on an 84 vette. Anyone know how to replace one? Or how much it is for a new one and to have it installed? I was told it has to be pressure set at a trans shop...?

Unbolt it from the trans, and remove the top from the retainer.
Reverse to re-install.

$30 Part
shop labor per hour x 1 hour

Not true- there is an adjustment setting described in the factory service manual that does not involve a pressure guage.

Can I adjust the tranny cable like on the older cars to give me a shift with lower RPMs?
