I think the 87 had an R4 as opposed to the Nippondenso on my 88. Even with that difference, I fully expect that you will find the low side connection on the accumulator.
Are you familiar with basic refrigeration principles? Thinking of the old diamond diagram that applies to all refrigeration systems will always help you locate the service fittings.

Thanks for your post to my question, This was helpfull, I have solved the problem, One A/C shop in Tulsa wanted alot of money to repair my A/C, but I was able to do the job myself for about $67.00, and now I have cold air, and all works fine. Thanls again to akk who posted.
