Default Anybody having problems with Eckler's?

I ordered a couple of small items over two weeks ago. No sign of them. The order was confirmed immediately. A follow up email sent last Friday has not been acknowledged.

Is it normal for Eckler's to be this slow?

All Corvette Vendors like Ecklers, mid america, corvette central etc receive your order and if the item is not in stock they back order it or

...you'll receive the items with corvette central tags on it. I assume they work together on this. I've ordered thru Ecklers and received corvette central parts. I laughed and installed the part.

I've received few broken parts from MidAmerica (improper packaging by employees) but, they replaced the item immediately.

Ordered a few parts from Ecklers by telephone a couple weeks back they refused to honor a 10% off coupon they sent me (but I ordered anyway because I got them to price match) about 2 months ago and part of the order took nearly 3 weeks to arrive by UPS. The part that took 3 weeks to arrive was an item listed as "in stock". The real kicker is I live less than 200 miles away from Ecklers here in Florida. I wrote them an email letting them know that these would be the last items I'd ever order from them if they didn't make things right....never heard from them since. Guess where I don't shop anymore.

I ordered from Eckler's about a month ago and received my item within four days I think. I too live in Florida about 3 hours away from Ecklers. I just placed a second order last night, this time with about four items instead of just one.

I will post back when I hear/receive anything.

About the only problem I had with Ecklers was they had a lower radiator hose for an 89 that had an OEM part number. I called and asked what that hose was. And they said it was a reproduction hose and confirmed that it wasn't a regular aftermarket hose.

Well, I checked into it, and that lower hose turned out to be an AC Delco (Gates) hose that I can pick up down the road, I called Ecklers technical support and they confirmed that I was told wrong.

Good thing I checked it out as I was fixing to order it. Now I'm looking at going with OEM or Goodyear.

Just got an email - back ordered.

I had two items. Headlight repair kits, and horn switch/harness.

It took me 3 weeks to get a pvc hose. I think some of the things in there catalog they just don't stock and they order them from the suppliers after we order from them. It has to do with having a lower overhead..WW

I only order from eckler's if I absolutely cannot get whatever part I'm looking for from someplace else. When I have to, I go through a local vette shop (corvettespecialists.com) because they pass on a 10% discount.

eckler's used to be a lot better when The eckler family owned them. Ever since they sold it, it went downhill. I've had too many negative experiences with them and they ALWAYS try to tack on a 15% restocking fee when you get something wrong if if it's their fault.

Check ZIP or mid america who are actually better than eckler's for customer service. Mid america first.

Going on 2 months with Mid america on a power air coupler. I wouldn't be so upset but the ONLY reason I bought this thing was because my stock one cracked. I have a 200 mile both way trip in 2 weeks (Vettes and Jets on the Lex). I've sent several e-mails asking about the part with zero answers. Calling them tomm but It BETTER COME IN!!!!

So, no... Ecklers is not the only ones.

I bet it is safe to say that they all are probably ****ty at one time or another.

One place I don't hear anything about is Corvette America. But I don't shop there cause their search catalog online sucks ***.

Eckler's Customer Service people are great; however, you have to call them to find out the status of your order. No e-mail updates after the original e-mail confirming the order and price until the part is shipped. (Corvette Central and Zip Products both do a better job in keeping you informed as to the status of your order and whether or not the part is back-ordered.)

For example, I ordered a part on July 29th. Called to find out the status on August 6th. Was told the part was back-ordered and should be shipped August 21st. On August 31st I called and was told that the part was still back-ordered and might be shipped September 15th. Am I a happy camper? NO!

My experience over the past 10 years is that they are painfully slow, they generally do not even ship the order for 2-3 days, and then, since it is coming form Florida it takes 7 days to get here, I refuse to use them unless nobody on the planet has what I need.

I rank ZIP as #1, then Mid America, then no body, then Ecklers.

Corvette America has always done right by me. I try my best to keep my money in the states and they have tons of parts that are made and sold right here. A lot of the mail order mags sell china knockoffs. Not for my Vette thanks!!

I have ordered many items from Ecklers, Mid-America, Corvette Central, Corvette America and not had any problems with any of them. However there is quite a variation between them as far as pricing, availability and branding.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Corvette Central. They shipped half the order on Monday and the other half this morning. Not bad since I placed the order online SUnday.

I received three of the four items yesterday. The last item was back-ordered, as expected, because it was not in stock when I ordered it. I would say they were on the ball with my order, and probably would of had to ship it out the following morning for it to arrive in just two days.

No, but Mid America sure wastes a lot of paper (and money) shipping me catalogs!

Its been awhile since I've ordered anything, but I learned along time ago to call my order in...ask if they had it in stock or if it would be back ordered......if in I ordered....if not I didn't.
