Default Chambered Exhaust on my '94 Vert

OK, guys, this is the clip I promised. Sorry to be so long.

http://s287.photobucket.com/albums/l...tteExhaust.flv

It sounds like there is a rattle on the video but I can't hear it on the car, so must be picking up something else somewhere. Rattling my camera's lense?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not been here for quite some time, so hello.

I just purchased the Corvette Central dual chambered exhaust system and wondering what to expect on sound and performance.

Engine is '94 LT1 modified w/ MSD ProBillet Dist., forced induction, Bosch III injectors, LT4 Hot Cam, 1.6 rockers, HD springs, heads ported, 1 5/8" shorties into 2 1/2" collectors, stock cats.

New from the cats back, the front pipes are the "H" pipe design into the center pipes that have the chambers in them and the rear pipes are muffler eliminators with LT1 tips. The pipes are 2 3/4" diameter from front to back. Can't wait to get them mounted.

i would expect it to be pretty loud.. i have an slp exhaust that is dual 3 inch and from stock engine to what it is now its always been loud. there really wasn't a difference in noise from open header to having the exhaust on the car except that now all the sound comes out the back of the car.. but its still way too loud.

It is designed for the C4 LT1 engine and is supposed to be very similar to the earlier Corvettes with the side pipes in sound.
With the chambers, I'm hoping for a low tone that will enhance the LT4 hot cam I have, especially at idle.

I would have tried some elims first, but I think you will like the sound if you want it to be more "musclecar" like. If your looking for a heavy cam M/Y sidepipe sound, I think you will be dissapointed.....because nothing replaces that.

I have the same full chambered setup on my 92 coupe, with factory cats and manifolds. It really does not seem any louder than the magnaflows I had on it before (I guess that's because the cats are somewhat restrictive). It does however have a deep burbling idle now and does pop on the overrun some (decelleration). Overall I am pretty happy with the setup and vette folks are always asking me what kind of mufflers I have.

I've heard a Hot Cammed LT1 with chambered exhaust, and it sounded really good. One of the best sounding LT1 exhaust out there!!!

Thanks, guys. I hope I like them as much as some of you that have them or heard them on other cars. Plan is to have them installed tomorrow.
I'll try to put up a video of the car and the new sound.

i have chambered exhaust and its great. sooooo much better than stock mufflers, but- not as loud as coming straight out of the cat. straight out of the cat was too loud at 2k and im only 20 years old. the chambered exhaust is nice. i got mine from MAM i believe--pn 603-408. it doesnt say 'chambered', theyre actually labeled 'muffler eliminators' but they are chambered just like a glass pack on the inside

Well, they're on! Sorry, no video yet.
WOW, they sound great. Sure woke up the LT4 hot cam sound.
Perhaps a smidgen loud at different rpm's but remind me of my old (new) '55 Chevy I used to own that had glass paks. Man would they talk on that first Chevy small block. That's a s*** eatin' grin.
Yeah, yeah I know, I'm still a kid at heart...even at 73. Used to drag race back then and still do. Hope I never grow up.
If it doesn't rain all weekend, maybe I'll get a video made.

To 85corvettekws. These are Corvette Central's pipes and the chambering is in the straight pipes where the resonator used to be located and then the muffler eliminators to the tips.
Great set of pipes at a reasonable price!

Hey don't forget us on that clip yet. Even if you can only get a small something with a cell phone. You can PM me and I'll help you post it. I'm pretty sure this will be my next purchase. I'm glad it worked out well for you.

I put the chambered exhaust from Corvette Central on my 94 coupe about 2 years ago, and have been very happy with them. I had a set of Flowmasters that came with the car, and I was looking for something to replace them. I couldn't handle the resonance at cruise speed anymore.

The chambered system did the trick. No more "drone" at cruise, they sound good a WOT and also have a nice burble when backing off. The sound is similar to my 64 and 67 Corvettes...which had side exhaust.
