Default Brake pad Q

I just bought the middle grade of brake pads and they are non ceramic from NAPA. Usually 50 dollars for the front, I got them for 40.00 which is the mechanics price. Yes, I thought about getting Hawks ect but I wanted to get these since I got a discount on them. I looked them over and they seem better than Autozones.

If you have used the Napa Brake pads, please give me some detail on them. I have worn out Autozone duralast on now. Will these be better or am I just paying 15 dollars more? Thanks!

Softer pads stop quicker and don't eat up the rotors as fast....I'm sure there is tons of info here on the CF regarding pad choice for an application.

IMHO those pads you picked up will be fine for daily driver....up grade when your ready for some serious track time.

Indeed, I read for over an hour about how to upgrade to C5 brakes, drilled/slotted rotors, hawk pads, J55 upgrade, ect. Just was curious about this brand which you seem to think is fine. All I do is DD with this car. I don't race so I see no need to do the brake upgrades. Just want normal stopping power. Master cylinder and brake booster are all new. I am going to drain the old fluid out and clean the master cylinder then refill it up.

Default i was in the same boat

I can buy autozone/napa brakes for all my other cars, but couldnt get the stopping power I wanted for the vette and after checking all components, went with the HAWK HPS, and new inexpensive disks, on all 4's and got a much better grip, enough to make the Antilock brakes effective.

Interesting. I do believe I am going to do a comparison on this. I had autozone on before and now they are very thin....Will put the new brakes on today and see if it gets better then will do hawk once these wear out. I drive alot so it wont be long...Should probably get some new rotors as well...
