Newbie at Corvette Forum. help,help,help,
have a 1986 Corvette.
Motor does strange things. Starts fine; runs fine at colder temperature, but when it gets to operating temperature, it develops at tapping sound. Lately, it stalls, not consistently, but occasionally when coming to a stop or sitting idling. I took it to the shop, and the mechanic said I needed a fuel pump and replaced it. Problems still persist. I am not a mechanic, but I'm able to do some things to the car (i.e., replace alternator, brake booster, simple things). I am not getting any codes so I'm not sure which way to go with this. I would appreciate any help or direction on how to resolve this issue.
