Default Valve Seals

We changed my valve seals yesterday WITH OUT removing the head! I was not that tough but time consuming. If any one wants the how to let me know (beretta nut did all the hard work) that guy knows his poo! I am sure he will be glad to post the how to if any one is interested

Not to dump on your party but who told you the heads had to come off to change valve seals?

I thought it was common knowledge I am sure I am not even close to the first so i was just tring to pass on info to other novices like my self

Did you sand them with 60 grit paper first?

Hey Dave.....hows the project goin'? I just did my seals on my "rebuilt" heads.....they had left off the o-ring seals underneath the keepers. Now I know why....what a pain in the..... My car was smokin' really good, now not even a puff. Took me about 2 days. Hows the paint?

Its coming We have it blocked down and now we are fixing to prime it thursday and then sand some more hopefully a couple more weeks

no more smoke but we need to readjust a lifter (have a tick) of course on the drivers side

I changed the valve seals in my `87 without removing the heads by using the old "rope" trick, Worked like a charm

Someone was just gettting his digs on Shamdave for sanding the paint off his car with 40 grit sandpaper....it was a epic thread some time ago. The car is being repainted properly as we speak. I am rooting for him.

It was only one that needed another 90* turn, but how's she doing now? It's not killing bug's anymore I hope. How did the priming turn out?

Oh is the power draw gone?

Stuff some nylon rope through spark plug hole, rotate crank to put piston at TDC, remove springs.
