For a good painter that dosent have to do a stitch of prep this is easy money! Look just make sure you take as much trim as you can off the car. Marker lights, tail lights, door handles, emblems, you name it. Taping stuff off means that you are not getting under it and thats usualy the areas that tend to lift with time. If you need weather stripping now is the time to rip that old stuff off. Make sure he is doing a 2 stage job! A huge factor in the final result is sanding the clear coat the day after........ That makes it look like glass. Then hes gotta wheel the hell out of it. I mean a REALY GOOD painter with a bake booth might not have to this but almost every paint job can be improved AFTER the spray. I wouldnt be the least bit intimidated by this undertaking. Watch out with sanding, The car is so small I would almost do it by hand....... concentrate on one pannel at a time. The car is very rounded so power sanders can do damage quick....... Try not to break through the old paint to much...... You just have to scuff it for him.... If you see a chip dont sand it out! Go back with a light filler after the whole car is scuffed. Sanding out a chip means that you made an indentation over a large area and will be noticable after the spray......
