I have a 88 and want to replace shocks. I want to stay with equal to OEM's type shocks, not performance type. Viewing pricing at Auto Zone, Advanced and Ecklers I see cheap to real expensive. $40.00 plus to $200.00 per. What would you recommend? Just trying to stay orginal.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I had the original Bilstiens with 147,000 miles on them..then I went with Gabriel Ultras.. all four for $100. I dont know how long they will last but Ive had them for 2000 miles so far and they perform and above all are comfortable. Got them at autozone. If your not strictly looking for a performance shock I would give them a try.
All four KYBs for ~$160.....two hours in the garage and ride off into the sunset.
For $160, you can buy these now and when you have an extra $400 lying around you could try the Bilsteins......$160 is nothing to find out the real answer...
Of course I am sold on the KYBs, but I have an '84...My stock suspension is as stiff as your years Z51s...So no, I am not interested in a "firmer" shock.
