So my struggle is hopefully coming down to the final stretch after much research. Did a search and see alot of info about code 32. Not much about code 26 thats in my history sadly. My 94 acts fine when cold yet when brought up to normal temp it misfires if going up hill lugging around or sometimes at WOT. Very rarely( only like three times in 10 months) the check engine light comes on and cause a code 26. It also seems to misfire hardly at all when its cold out(less then 60 degrees) and a lot if its around 80+ degrees out. I just did my inspection and emission with my buddy and he said they were fine except my NOx was about 220 out of a possible failing 270ish. Any ideas? Possible bad egr valve, bad 02's? I read that changes in back pressure can effect an egr system and come to think of this all this started happening about two weeks after I got my "cat back" installed, in which the muffler shop cut behind the mufflers and gave me no resonator and 2.5 inch piping back to straight through magnaflow mufflers. Thanks all in advance.
I just had that problem and did a write up on it. The short of it is I replaced the emission canister solenoid. Its on the front, top, right side of the engine with one connector and 2 hoses to it, black looking box. This cleared the repeating code. This is the link from my write up.
Uhhh. Sure hope not. Right now I got my spark plugs, wires, opti, water pump, fuel pump and sending unit all replaced within the last 20,000 miles or less. Guess I'll be takin a look at that tomorrow. And if not that... on to the next guess. Just seems so weird all this started happening within days probably of my exhaust being changed, around may. And only in the last two weeks did the engine light come on.
