When I upgraded to the bigger 58 AS&M Throttle body on my 396 the throttle cable was too short and it would stay at a very high idle. We did the bracket fix as others have and it now idles fine.
Does this affect the WOT position. It appears that it will not completely open up now with the bracket fix on the idle. Not sure it is an issue. Has anymore bought a new cable? Where did you buy?
Its definitely a different car now with the new AFR 195CC heads.

What did you swap...? heads only ?
i would love to read your comments , what you feel with your new heads ???
I cant get photobucket to upload pictures.
But to fix the throttle body, its not the WOT issue, its having the throttle going back to idle. You have to grind out the area where the cable is in the plastic. I started at the halfway point and worked back towards the back of the throttle body, cylinder head side. I slowly ground and rechecked until the throttle body came all the way back to the throttle stop. This was after WOT adjustment.
Here is my thread. I dont have the original pics, but Photobucket says I updloaded new ones, but nothing shows. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...-bluewasp.html

Replaced the 10 year old TPIS ported LT1 heads, AS&M 52TB, LT4 28# injectors with 42#Delphi's, ported the LT1 intake and upgraded the pro magnum rockers to the new ultra's.
12,000 miles on the MTI 396 LT1 motor and hundreds of passes at the track with no engine problems. The Spec 3+ clutch and Delteq ingnition have cut down the clutch and Opti issues at the track.
