Default Hypertech 4050 in your '84??????

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HYP-4050/

Anyone ever try this little kit in their '84????

Not a bad price for cap, coil and rotor.

Can someone vouch for Hypertech quality/workmanship???

Thanks.

that seams like a good deal to me,considering a cap and rotor for the lt-1 is over 100 bucks.hypertech has a reputation for making gimmical stuff that doesnt meet the claims they make.so as long as you dont expect much i doubt youll be dissapointed.bassically its not going to do much more than work right.

Yeah, that is kinda what I figured. I may pass on Hypertech.

So who makes a super high quality cap and rotor???

Accel, Mallory, MSD????????????????????????? Accel and Mallory seem like the same parent company.

Just want to get the best to go with my Magnecors.

Is this any better??????

I used Mallory. Did it make a huge powergain differance?
Absolutely not, not over that stock HEI cap and rotor.
Dont expect a night and day differance between the 2.

FYI - I ended up going with this AutoZone MSD kit and an MSD coil.

The cap-rotor-cover kit is really super heavy duty!!! Worth the $$$. You won't find a better one.

And I went with Bosch #4502's Plantinum Iridium fusion plugs.

Also installed a new set of Magenecor KV85 CN25 wires (Magnecor #8306 - not a stock item). Quality thru and thru.

Nice, very nice. Quick starts, more HP, more TQ, smoother ride, etc....

What a difference - almost like a new vehicle
