Default Header wrap

I rarely let the car see rain and the headers are stainless steel. The temps under the hood boiled my clutch fluid and I think may have fried an O2 wire or even worse, cooked the ECM. Is it worth wrapping the headers if the car rarely gets driven in rain (better, the car rarely gets driven!).

do it! I did. in the AZ climate I'm not worried abuot the life-span of the headers. Not to mention the fact that my headers are "temporary" until I get the 383 built and go with 1 7/8" long tubes... in which case I will STILL wrap it, but also coat it.

You'll be fine, and you'll be VERY happy with the heat reduction.

Gee Justin I have many of the same mods that you do albeit without a clutch and my car sits in commuter traffic every day and I've not had any problems with excessive heat under the hood.

I had the same problem melting about anything plastic or rubber under the hood. I wrapped mine and it was night and day difference. I have drove mine in the rain with no problems.
